Post Grad Sap
As you all probably know/don't know, I just graduated last Sunday. One of the most memorable moments of one's life and I haven't even written about it. And since Henrite wrote a post-graduation post (that sounds funny...) with pictures included, I decided to finally put up one of my own. Er, with no pics included. I'm lazy.
During the graduation rehearsals, the Dean of Student Affairs and the College Dean kept on reiterating that we shouldn't scream/whoop/cheer whenever a student's name is called to receive her diploma or special award because it was "a solemn celebration." I don't know about you, but the words "solemn" and "celebration" just don't go together. Naturally, on the day itself, we screamed/whooped/cheered for our friends, much to the chagrin of both the Deans but to the amusement of our Chairperson. Imagine their horror when a number of people in my block (myself included) gave a standing ovation to Brayna when she was called up on stage for her award for service and leadership.
Once everything was done, it was time for us to sing our school song. That's when we all choked up, and was probably the only time we ever gave our all in singing that song. Pictures were taken; letters, grad pics, kisses, tears and hugs were exchanged, then we all separated to have dinner with our families. It was a shame that my grad dinner had to be cut short since my stomach was acting up.
Time flew by so fast. I know it's cheesy and sappy to be all "Miss School Spirit" and everything, but it was really a second home to me.
Yesterday I went to school to submit a photo for my Alumnae card and to sign up for my Transcript of Records. The application form required us to get the signatures of various people in the Library, the Clinic, the Dean of Student Affairs' office, etc. It was standard procedure, one that we always went through when we had to get clearance before our exams, but it was the last time that I'd be collecting signatures from those departments. I could've relished the moment, but I was dehydrated and nauseous so I tried to get it over with as quickly as possible. I still gave those places a good look before leaving though, taking it all in and reminding myself that I'm not a student anymore.
"Not a student anymore."
Eep! It still hasn't really sunk in.
True, I will be seeing my friends again as we promised to have dinner together every 2 weeks (well, hopefully), but I'm going to miss my crazy block and all the other people in it. I'm going to miss the teachers and the rest of the staff who have been both warm and cranky to me. I'm going to miss the cafeteria food which isn't really all that great. I'm going to miss being a DJ. I'm going to miss editing episodes for ACTV. I'm going to miss wearing my uniform too, for crying out loud.
I'm just feeling really nostalgic at the moment. And I'm also wondering what the future would bring, not just for me, but for my friends as well. I never thought that I would be working for Jonas, that's for sure (hehe). But it's all good.
Well, guess I'm going to turn in for now.

Congratulations Shelly! :)
So, when are we going out with the others? I'll be free starting Monday, 12 noon! And I'm already counting the seconds to my freedom. Haha. My second-to-the-last summer of my whole life.
