Thoughts of Universal Randomness

The title pretty much speaks for itself. If, somehow, by some wicked twist of fate (or by some unfortunate accident in which you were dropped on your head when you were still a baby), you find yourself unable to comprehend this blog's title, then please steer clear of anything that is published here.

Buy CAST, Apply at AIS

So after a long delay, on my part and other circumstances, the back-up story that I illustrated and colored for CAST will finally show up in the eigth issue in a number of weeks. Arnold Arre also illustrated and colored a back-up story for the same issue so yay! Except his name gets to be on the cover because he's famous and stuff.

Yes, that is sweet and innocent Will on the cover all beaten up. Who did that to him? What's happening? Whose menacing shadows are those looming over Mons and Will? You'll never know unless you read CAST so buy, buy, buy! The story gets better and better.

Anyway, other updates on my life. I've been working at Interactive Art Services under Jonas for around a week now and I must say that it has been a horrible and terrifying experience. They're all EVIL!

Just kidding. The work is fun and challenging and the people nutty and over-the-top talented. The experience is helping me acquire new skills while polishing my old ones. Lots of multi-tasking involved as we have to not only learn how to color storyboards in a variety of ways but scan, clean up and composite lineart, keep our cool under pressure, etc. Though there are times when I'm juggling several tasks at once and working late into the wee hours of the evening, I don't really feel much of the pressure. But that's just me. I'm laid back (right, Henrite?) and I guess I'm sort of used to it, having to deal with similar stuff in production work back in College. But I'm sure the workload would get to me one of these days (Hmm, must not give the boss ideas...)

Well IAS is looking for colorists and pencillers. Check out their ad! Talk about attention-getting huh?
